Built by Sir Walter Raleigh in 1594, Sherborne Castle is set in 40 acres of glorious 'Capability' Brown gardens. 

Sherborne Abbey was founded by
St Aldhelm in AD 705. It is now a beautiful parish church and hosts an arts/music festival each year.

Wincanton Racecourse offers an excellent programme of quality jump racing & is renowned for its friendly atmosphere. 
There is also an excellent golf course.

Location
Sherborne is an enchanting small country town with its own Abbey. Castles, shops, restaurants, tea rooms and weekly market stalls are all within easy walking distance of the house. The historic Dorset Coast, Quantock Hills and the city of Bath are an easy drive away. Also, Stourhead, Wilton House and Montecute House are certainly worth a visit.
